Liquid YellowMk2 owned by Matt:
Renault imported 18 Liquid Yellow Clio V6’s in to the UK. Liquid yellow was one of the special ID colors available, making resale prices slightly higher than normal.
As with some of the Acid yellow V6’s, liquid yellows were also used on some of the Renault Safety and track day cars.
I purchased my liquid yellow Clio 255 in July 2007 (number 1196 mine being
an import) after owning a phase 1 in Silver. Buying a second V6 was a tough
decision; as it seemed like buying the same car twice. I finally whittled
my choices down to the Clio, TVRt350 and a Lotus Exige. The liquid yellow
won – Surprise surprise. After emailing just about every liquid yellow
owner on the site (sorry guys) the car came from Jay, another club member
on the forum from down in Dudley who happended to be selling due to a new
business venture. It was a fantastic drive back home in it and I couldn’t
believe the attention the car gets (more so than my phase 1).
The owner prior to this picked it up Sept 1st 2006 from Renault London (Masters of Shirley in Kent with only 2K on the clock).
Originally, it was owned by Renault UK from March 05 and was used as demo/safety car for the track days they do.
What I’ve found most amazing about this car (apart from the looks, handling and power as with all V6’s ?) is the way that the liquid yellow colour changes in different shades of lights – it can look quite dull and flat but given a bit of sunshine, it sparkles and really stands out!
As for ‘modding’ the Clio, I’ve been tempted to fit some
Recaro Trendlines to finish the interior off but have decided to keep the
car in standard guise for now – just clean and serviced for the summer!!
? The only problem now is deciding what to replace it with………………..might
have to keep it for now!
