Acid Yellow Mk2 owned by Kett:
Renault UK registered a pair of acid yellow Clio V6s in June '04 to use as promotional media cars. The Mk II version of the V6 Clio was manufactured in the ex-Alpine RenaultSport Dieppe factory. All V6 models were given an individual number plaque for the centre console. Uniquely, media cars were not given UK identity plaques.
Acid Yellow was an ID colour available as an cost option when new. Additionally these two media cars were specified with complete leather interior in grey. Only 5 UK V6s were manufactured with the complete leather option.
The safety car with the black chequered decals has been identified as HT04UVR, which featured at World Series by Renault at Donnington '05. It remains unknown which V6 featured as the safety car with the silver chequered decals. The photographs are from various Clio cup races in '05.
I acquired HT04UVR in March 2006. I was lucky to be able to research the vehicle's
providence with much assistance from the members at v6clio.net. The vehicle
is now registered as V6 YEL and has been subtlety modified. I have been careful
to retain it's original components however...
Acid Yellow is an outrageous colour for an outrageous car. Only 8 UK V6s were specified in this colour. It was heavily used by Renault to market the Mk II V6.
Some of the contributors to v6clio.net fondly recreated the Acid Yellow V6 Clio in various guises just for fun. Here we see: a “Lightning”V6, a Forza2 V6 safety car and a Transformer V6.
